The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive
The Distinguished Gentleman's Drive is a celebration of classic style. The 2023 event takes place on Sunday, September 24th. It is an on-road motoring event, uniting pre-1980 designed classic cars, encouraging drivers and passengers around the world to dress dapper and drive for men's health. All funds raised are invested in vital research and programs for prostate cancer and men's mental health by Movember.
Chair and Desk has worked on their frontend, backend, internal APIs and helped build their first mobile app.
APIs Make the World Go Round
Chair and Desk has used many APIs to perform its projects and tasks, which was no different when working on Gentleman’s Drive. To this we also helped extend functionality to their own APIs so we could then use data from their system in their very own mobile application.
Mobile Application
Gentleman’s Drive is part of a much larger business called Gentleman’s Ride. Chair and Desk was asked to build a pilot mobile application to show that a native mobile app could be used for their ride event. Within 2 months, we had a working prototype for a custom built Android app. There were over 500 people that we had participate in the alpha test.
Custom Mapping Software
Chair and Desk built, tested and launched custom mapping software that was used globally. This mapping software was then used to provide turn by turn directions in the mobile application. The mapping solution was built with Mapbox APIs
